This painting was one of the hardest and easiest things I’ve ever had to paint. Well not THAT hard but still. It took me 2-3 hours to make it. What is so hard about a 3h painting – you may ask. Well the technique is not easy at all- at least for me. As you can see from the photos the painting’s style is a bit 3D because I put the paint with a special tool which name I don’t really know. However after making two more painting before this one I got used to the weird technique which is called Modern Art. As my art teacher said you don’t have to think that much and just put as much paint as you want.
Now about the paint I used: First I put oil paint for texture and main colors. Then came the hardest part: acrylic paint used with a special tool. About that tool- it is metal and you need a bit of practicing to get the hang of it. Because it may look easy but when it lands on your hand and you’re supposed to put paint with it on the canvas- the real chalenge starts. What is the hardest thing about this tool – holding it the right way. Why you may ask – because if you can’t hold it the right way you can’t paint too. There’s a lot of twisting your arm and thinking but as I said already- practice makes everything easier.
How do we put the colors the right way so that we make it look more realistic? This is something you get used to with help and practice. All the paintings I’ve made were redrawn from photos- such as this one. So it’s not that hard to find the darker shades and the shadows. I’m still a begginer though so I’m not as professional as I may look like so maybe not everything I say is true or right.
But the main thing is that you are NOT allowed to think too much and if you make any mistake you can always fix them- no matter what!
